  • My Post-Impressionistic Knock-Off of Van Gogh's Self Portrait

Who said, "Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." That's right! Van Gogh. I have a one million-ish page coffee table book on Van Gogh and I LOVE reading about this guy. He fascinates me, and concerns me all at once. S ometimes he writes things in his letters to his brother, and I'm like: uh oh. His interesting mix of self-loathing and pride is familiar to me. I think it's familiar to us all, and that's why we're so drawn to his paintings. I think this one is 24x36. I did it with a brush and palette knife. Lots of turquoise in it, so it really appeals to me. It hangs in our dining room creeping out my husband. #people

  • 12x12 Acrylic Ocean Laguna Beach

Who else has held the oceans in his hand? Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers? Who else knows the weight of the earth or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale? Isaiah 40:12 My favorite memory of our trip to Laguna Beach, California was painting the ocean with Rylie and Anthony. Anthony can draw pretty much anything, so I expected his painting to be the best. His brow furrowed in concentration, and while Rylie and I painted on the ground on our picnic blanket he walked around observing the scene from all angles. We laughed so hard when Anthony held up a bright blue painting with purple blobs all over it! (you can see it on the ground... the purple blobs aren't showing... but were the added touch that made us laugh!)

  • Contemporary Impressionist Mona Lisa, Katie-Style

This sucker is about 24X36, I'd say. And her story? Well, it's all in the smile. #people #original

  • Practice Painting

11X14 lemon oil painting. When I first started in 2017, I'd practice by finding paintings online. This isn't for sale, because it was practice. All the things in my shop are original. I wish I could find the original. It's not totally the same, but I loved it.
